With the dawn of Indian Art followed by the rich cultural tradition of Indian Handicrafts, famous all over the world, it has always been a serious effort to keep the spirit alive. Every year many festivals, either a bigger or a smaller one are held in many parts of across India. The Surajkund Crafts Mela held every year in Surajkund at Haryana; outskirts of Delhi. Significance of Surajkund Crafts Mela
Over 400 skilled and talented artisans from different part of the country participate to display the rich tradition handicrafts of India in a typical setting. In fact during the year 2009 it is not only the Indian craftsman but rather fifty craftsmen from Egypt and Thailand had participated in this festival. From that time onwards, some of the SAARC countries like Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan participates in this festival to showcase and sell handloom and handicraft products.
The artisan attending the festival showcases some of the best handicrafts made of wood, bamboo, glass, iron and textiles. Besides it is also a great place to try out the popular cuisine from all over the country. Dance and various folk theatres are also performed here, which is a part of the festival.
