Majuli festival is celebrated in the Majuli distrct (biggest river island) of North-Eastern state. The Majuli island is located in the mid of the river Brahmaputra and is the abode of Assamese civilization and the Neo- Vaishnavite culture. The Majuli celebrations is the most popular festival in Assam and is celebrated on the bank of the river Luit, the sub-divisional head-quarter of the Majuli island. It is celebrated during November month. The celebration of Majuli Festival take place for 4 continuous days. This auspicious festival in Assam conduct various cultural programs with various communities like Mishings, Deoris, Sonowal Kacharis, Mataks, Ahoms and other Nepali Communities of Majuli from the rest of the country.
In the exhibition, the traditional products of Assam which are specially prepared by artistes are also on display that draw attention to the Majuli’s traditional grandeur. The organizers of the events also arrange for a food festival in Assam, where Assamese and tribal dishes are also made. This arrangement of Majuli Festival of North East India is made keeping in mind the road communicating facilities and the climatic conditions in Majuli.
